Raised in Harpers Ferry, WV and now a proud resident of Charles Town, Melissa has built her life and career in the town she calls home. Following in her mother Paula’s footsteps, Melissa inherited Cape Cod Formals in 2020 after Paula’s courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer came to an end.

A 2019 graduate of Shepherd University with a Bachelor’s in Business Marketing, Melissa combined the fundamentals she learned from her mother with her own passion for business, fashion, and relationships. She continues to expand her knowledge of the industry, embracing networking opportunities and new marketing tools to fuel her ever-growing boutique.

For Melissa, the most rewarding aspects of owning Cape Cod Formals are the relationships she builds with customers, the culture she has cultivated among her employees, and the joy of curating seasonal collections adored throughout the Eastern Panhandle and beyond. From the beginning, she set out to do more than sell dresses, she aimed to create experiences and lasting connections.

In 2023, Melissa founded Paula’s Path, a nonprofit dedicated to honoring her mother and supporting families facing the hardships of metastatic breast cancer. The organization raises awareness for MBC while providing financial assistance to a recipient family in need each year.

When not at the boutique, Melissa can be found traveling with her fiancé, friends, or family. Though rooted in a small town, she lives a big life, always chasing her dreams and reaching for the stars.
 

Our team

A lifelong creative, Morgan Jones infuses her work at Cape Cod Formals with imagination, enthusiasm, and a love for storytelling. After growing up between northern Virginia and Jefferson County, WV, she explored life in New York City and Nashville before making Martinsburg her home. Her passion for the arts led her to study theater both in New York and at Shepherd University, where she completed her B.A. in Theater and a minor in Communications and New Media.

Morgan constantly inspired by the creative nature of Cape Cod Formals and enjoys the fresh challenges and ideas each season brings. In her free time you can find her at game nights with friends or curled up with a good audiobook and a craft in hand.

Born and raised in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Sarah has always called WV home.  She is currently getting her Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration while concentrating on marketing. Sarah oversees the operation and content management of the Cape Cod Formals TikTok account. Bringing a creative perspective while maintaining the formal image of the company.

When she is not is CCF, she is an active member of Delta Zeta Sorority and Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, where she is committed to leadership, service, and personal development. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Brandy and Dug, and can often be found behind her Nikon camera capturing the world through her lens.

Amber was born and raised in Kearneysville, WV. After spending much of her career in the Admin/HR field, she was excited to bring her skills to Cape Cod Formals in June 2023. Her role is multifaceted, whether she’s managing the front desk, keeping the team fueled during busy times, or ensuring the store runs smoothly and on schedule, Amber is at the heart of CCF!

Outside of work, Amber enjoys traveling, hiking, taking walks, and supporting small businesses. Along with being a dedicated mom, she is also pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree as a college student.
